"Assisted living in your home or ours"

North Mobile Retirement Center was one of the first Alabama licensed Specialty Care Assisted Living Facilities and has the capability for serving residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia and memory impairments.

We have a long-standing reputation for dignified and compassionate service to the elderly and have been in Satsuma since 1984. While we are only minutes from Mobile and Baldwin counties, our location in Satsuma allows us to offer a peaceful, serene five-acre campus away from the city lights and activities.

This location also allows us to offer our services at substantially lower rates than our competitors in Mobile and along the gulf. Because we have a larger campus, we also have a gazebo and several secure areas for our residents who enjoy the outdoors.

Our well trained, experienced and knowledgeable employees truly enjoy caring for the elderly and adults with special needs. Residents at North Mobile Retirement Center are encouraged to live an active life through the social activities we offer, while being assured of a homelike atmosphere with professional care.

Families are encouraged to visit their loved ones frequently and to assist residents in personalizing their rooms. We offer church services weekly and have a chapel that is open to use by our residents and their families. Additional areas are available for family conferences or private visits if a resident’s room is not adequate.

We recognize that dementia and Alzheimer’s diseases are frustrating for residents and family members and encourage families to turn to our Administrator for information on support groups and counseling.

North Mobile Retirement Center provides a living environment that is especially adapted for the safety and care of residents with cognitive and behavioral problems in addition to a need for assistance with activities of daily living. The building is secured via a keypad pass code system.

Staff are specifically trained to intervene with residents who have tendencies to wander or exhibit unique behaviors attributable to their cognitive impairments. We have on staff a registered nurse who works closely with the staff to plan and implement a plan of care for each resident. All resident medications are administered by licensed nurses.

Our Administrator is a seasoned professional specifically licensed to care for this unique memory impaired population. Our Medical Director has extensive experience in caring for the elderly population and specifically those seniors with cognitive impairments. He visits the facility multiple times each month and is available to provide care as the primary attending physician for residents and families who do not wish to leave the facility for physician care.

We also have a consulting, registered dietician who helps us plan our menus and manage specific nutritional concerns of our residents such as weight loss or weight gain. What all of this means is that by entrusting your care, or the care of your loved one to us, you will be receiving personalized care in a smaller community (40 units), operated by a family owned business with a level of professional expertise typically found only in large corporate facilities and systems.

We like to think we provide the best of all worlds. We also never forget that caring for the elderly and their families is a very personal experience for all of us!
